Ghever Recipe

  • All-Purpose Flour: 2 Cup
  • Desi Ghee: 1/2 Cup
  • Cold Milk: 1/2 Cup
  • Chilled Water: 2.5 Cup
  • Lemon: Half
  • Refined Oil for frying
  • Desi Ghee for frying
  • Sugar: 1.5 Cup
  • Cardamom: 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Water
  • Dry fruits


Step 1

Take desi ghee and ice cubes in a bowl and mash it for 5 to 6 minutes.

Step 2

When ghee is fluffy remove the ice cubes from it.

Step 3

Add all-purpose flour to it and mix it well.

Step 4

Now add milk to it and again mix them well. Use hand beater, electronic beater or hand to blend them all.

Step 5

Now add chilled water slowly and gradually to make a smooth liquid batter which has no lumps in it.

Step 6

Add lemon extract to in and mix it well in the batter.

Step 7

Take a small sized saucepan. Add to it half refined oil and half desi ghee and heat it well.

Step 8

When the oil is heated well, pour into it the ghever batter with the help of a tablespoon. Use 2 to 3 tablespoon of batter to prepare one ghever. Make a hole in between the ghever with the help of a knife. Fry it until it turns golden brown in color.

Step 9

Once ghever is ready, prepare a sugar syrup with the help of sugar and water and add to it cardamom powder.

Step 10

Apply sugar syrup on top of Ghever and can also put some Rabdi. Garnish it with some chopped dry fruits.

Step 11

Ghever is ready to be served. Enjoy the sweetness of Ghever this festival.
