Matar Ka Nimona Recipe Green Peas Curry

Ingredients

  • Onion: 2
  • Ginger: 1 inch
  • Garlic Cloves: 10 to 12
  • Green Chili: 3 to 4
  • Green Peas: 150 gm
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Cauliflower: 1
  • Potato: 2
  • Mustard Oil
  • Bay leaves: 2
  • Black Cardamom: 2
  • Urad Dal Vadi: 6 to 7
  • Asafoetida: Pinch off
  • Turmeric Powder: 1/4 Tsp
  • Coriander Powder: 2 Tsp
  • Salt to Taste
  • Water
  • Garam Masala: 1/2 Tsp

Method

Step 1

Grind ( without water) onion, ginger, garlic, green chili, coriander leaves and green peas together ti make a fine paste.

Step 2

Cut small cubes of potato and slices of cauliflower.

Step 3

Take mustard oil in a pan and deep fry potato and cauliflower separately and keep them aside.

Step 4

Now take 3 Tablespoon mustard oil in a pan and heat it.

Step 5

Add Bay leaves, black cardamom and urad dal ki vadi. Fry them for 1 minute on medium flame.

Step 6

Now add to it fine paste of green peas and other which we made earlier.

Step 7

Add some Masale. Hing ( asafoetida), turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt to taste. Mix them well.

Step 8

Now just fry all of this masala along with the paste until it reduces in quantity and starts to release oil. Keep stirring.

Step 9

Then add fried Cauliflower and Potato. Mix well.

Step 10

Add 3 glass of Water and clover the pan with the lid.

Step 11

Let the curry boil for 10 to 15 minutes on low medium flame.

Step 12

After 15 minutes, add garam masala and turn off the flame.

Step 13

Green Peas Curry ( Nimona ) is ready to be served with bread or rice.
